The joys of being a gun owner in MA! [angry]

Bonded Warehouse Issues

Gun Owners' Action League is looking to hear from persons who have had their firearms confiscated by the police and placed in a bonded warehouse. Your stories will be used to assist us in preparing testimony for a public hearing on September 28 regarding proposed regulations for bonded warehouses.

We have heard many horror stories of people paying thousands of dollars in storage or transfer fees, but need documented proof. Armed with facts, GOAL can then seek effective solutions through legislation or regulation.

If you have personal experience with a bonded warehouse, GOAL would like to know:

* How you were told your guns were being placed in a bonded warehouse;
* Were you informed of your rights to have your firearms transferred away from the warehouse;
* How many guns were confiscated;
* How long were the guns stored;
* The amount of fees you were charged;
* And any difficulties you had in retrieving your property.

If the reason for confiscation was other than a 209A restraining order, please let us briefly know why they were taken from your home.

Please rush your stories via email to [email protected]. Be sure and put “bonded warehouse” in the subject line. Thank you!

In addition to the above questions asked, it would be beneficial to know how many gun owners had their personal property destroyed because their belongings weren't claimed in time?

Of those who did get their firearms returned, were they in worse condition than when they were confiscated?
