Two Glock 35's. One set up for IDPA with Storm Lake Match barrel and Dawson fiber optic sights. The other G35 has a J-Point slide rider red dot, Storm Lake Match ported barrel, Dawson Ice Magwell, trigger job, and all the inside upgrades. [smile]

I'm not a big Glock fan, but those I could definitely go for. I especially like the one with the fiber-optic sights.

Wow Bill. You've got some nice guns there. Did you buy slides with cutouts like that? If not, who did the work?

EddieCoyle, These are Glock 35's and have the weight saving cutouts standard. Glock 34 and 24's also have them. I took them to Jimmy Flynn at Four Seasons for all the goodies. We could meet up sometime and you can give them a try. I still think your S&W500 is the king of the toys. Bill [grin]

Do you know of a source for a ported slide for a Glock 17? I've found the Storm Lake barrel, but no source for a ported slide as of yet. I assume you need both to make the porting/recoil reduction work, yes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You have a couple of options.

1) I've seen a few complete Glock 17C uppers for sale on eBay at decent prices.

2) Lone Wolf. They will custom port your existing slide and barrel. Pick up any extra standard barrel for shooting without the comp.

One note: I've found 9mm porting and comps to be ineffective. There isn't enough gas generated to be of much help. Makes quite a difference in 40S&W and a world of difference in 357SIG, but I was dissapointed in the 9mm's.

There also a company called mag-na-port that does this sort of thing, but I haven't seen any of their work.
Good luck.

Bill, wasn't Mag-na-port the first company that developed this concept?

I seem to remember it back from my early days of shooting, although I have never shot a comp'd gun.

I don't think Mag-na-port was the first, but they greatly improved on the technology. Glock came out with their model 24c years ago and had problems with cracks on the barrel in between the ports. They eventually fixed the problem, and actually did another production run on the G24C. I've used lots of port/comp combinations and you have try them to believe it. Those of you who shot my ported glocks and especially my Power Ported S&W 686 at the Pumpkin Shoot can give you their independent opinion. I also tried a six port version (see picture), but it yielded the same results as the four port. (picture 1)
(porting is from the front sight in, compensators are generally an add-on or an extended "comped barrel" as in the second picture)
