Glock 43X or 19?

Recently saw the 43x… very cool. Inhave 365 and 365xl for carrying needs so considering getting a 19… So many options but that seems to have the biggest following.
If you've already got a 365 xl, then there is little point in getting a 43x, IMO.

True. Plus my xl has the wilson grip. I’ve just always wanted a glock (the grip angle will take some getting used to).

Do you think the 19 mos would be the best choice?

What do you want it for?

For me, the 43x conceals easier but the 19 is easier to shoot. I have average sized hands and wear a size L glove. The 19 fills my hand better. The 43x is thin enough that it moves around in my hand when I shoot it. I have Talon grips on all my Glocks. For a home defense gun or range/competition gun, I think the 19 is a better choice than a 43x. For concealed carry, particularly in hot weather, the 43x is better hands down. YMMV.

I'm not a big fan of the stock MOS plates. I use a CHPWS plate instead on my 19. I have an aftermarket direct fit mount slide on my 43x.

I just want a glock for range/just to have one (before frame transfers end). I’ll try and check them in person in NH.

Grip angle difference is overblown imo.
I've got glocks and sigs and bounce between both no problem.

It took me a long time to get used it, but I shot 1911s for a long time. It might be easier to deal with the grip angle if you haven't shot 1911s for as long as I did. 🤷‍♂️

I am just looking for some opinions from owners of either the 43X or 19, or both. I have one handgun, my EDC, a Sig P938, and am looking for something new. I've always had an interest in glocks and want one before frame transfers go away.

It sounds like the 43X is the better carry choice which is what I'll mainly use it for, but being that I only have one gun, I also want something more enjoyable for the range. That's what's making me debate the 19 instead. Whichever I buy will probably be the only glock I'll ever get to own, so trying to keep that in mind, whats the best choice in your humble opinions?

Also, the 43x comes in at $560 and the 19 at $680, hopefully, those are decent prices.
The 43 is too small for me to shoot well. Yes, that's coming from me, but it's a biomechanical thing with my hands and long fingers.

I still carry it, but have no issues carrying the 23 in 9mm, maybe check on which one is a legit 9mm, as well.

I liked the 43X, until I ran a few mags through dad’s P365 SAS. His is ported, and once I got used to the funky sight, it was really slick. But I’m still partial to my sig M11A-1. Which is chonky and heavy in comparison. But that trigger is so nice.

Personally, 43x with SA15 mags all the way. I use to believe the 19 was the perfect size, but with the capacity and shootability of smaller pistols (43x, P365, etc) improving so much the 19 now seems to me like an odd compromise. The 19 is now too big for its capacity and for carry compared to many other offerings.

I say that having once thought the 19 was the perfect firearm in terms of form factor.

The only thing I have left that’s kinda 19 size is my gen 5 Glock 30, which serves as my compact 45. All of my 9mm handguns are now either smaller than a 19 or bigger.

Edit: re read the OP and would say 19. I’m in NH and get to choose whatever I want. If I wanted one gun for the hell of it that felt like owning a Glock, it would have to be the 19 (even though I still consider it an inferior option for utility purposes at this point)

I’ve got the G43. Love it.

I've got a 43. It's pretty much become a "safe" gun, except for the very occasional BUG match or Glock Pocket Pistol division.

The 43X just fits my hand better, is almost as easy to conceal, and carries more rounds.

Bad news is that I shot a Sig P365 two weekends ago - and I kinda want one. I have a number of Glocks, my wife doesn't like them - she has Sigs. I can see a P365 in our near future.

I’ve shot the the Sig P365 and really wanted to like it, but didn’t. G43 just feels right to me. That’s how it goes…

I am a dyed in the wool Glock fanboy/bigot. And I carry a 365.

The 365 is the easiest to shoot micro-compact 9mm there is. Period. I write this as someone who has owned and shot both extensively.

The other issue is size. The base 365 is SIGNIFICANTLY less bulky than a 43x with the same 10 round capacity and even smaller than a 43.

Put a pinky extension on the 365 mag and you have a small gun that prints less and lets you get your whole hand on the gun.

If you live in MA or CT, there is even less reason to carry a larger gun, since you can't carry more than 10 rounds legally.

After I got my 365 I sold my 43, 43x, 26, and 19. It literally replaced all of those guns.

This is my well worn 365 with a fresh PMM comp kit installed. Once that went on, the gun was as easy to shoot fast with accuracy as my G17.

The Mass mandated safety can be removed in 5 minutes. 15 if its your fist time doing it. You are NOT modifying the gun. The gun is designed to be run with or without the safety. If you don't like the notch in the frame that is left with the safety removed, then spend $60 on a new grip module.

Part of the thing that makes the 365 so easy to shoot well when shooting fast is its smooth rolling break. there is no wall. You press the trigger to the rear and before the trigger stops, the shot breaks. Bad for bulls eye. good for shooting fast.

This is the only sig that I like, by the way. I'm no sig fan boy.

The first pic is my well loved 365 right after I put a PMM comp kit on it.
The second pic is a screen scrape from handgun hero.com comparing a 365 to a Glock 43X. Not even close and the Sig is actually a better shooter.

Had a 365 with 12rd mags and sold it. Bought a 365 Macro. Love it. Also bought a 43X, and love it more. The 43X is IMHO a perfect carry gun. Especially with 15rd S15 mags. Solved all my gripes with the G19. Runs great, great trigger out of the box, zero issues with the S15 mags, ergonomics are perfect. Slim enough you almost forget it’s there, fits my hand perfectly. Yes, ditch the garbage plastic irons for Trijicon Bright and Tough night sights. It has the mounting for a red dot, but I prefer irons, and has an accessory rail for a light if I wanted to add one (I don’t). The Macro is bigger, and takes 17rd mags. I love the ergos and its narrow but given the taller profile, it’s more effective as a fall and winter carry gun since you can conceal it better under a sweater, hoodie, coat, etc. Mags were difficult to load without a speedloader, almost impossible to load the 17th rd by hand, but not an issue after breaking them in. Good trigger, accessory rail and red dot mounting as well. Macro is stupid accurate.
