well.... Im getting my 1st press this week. Its between the Lee Challenger and the Hornady Lock n Load. If I factor in the free bullets, the hornady is almost the same cost as the lee... we'll see which one they have in stock when I go to the store...(today they had one Lee and 15 hornady, so I can guess which one will be there when I get back midweek...)

I don't have a Lee loader but I do have 3 Dillons and 2 Hornady L-N-L's (one with casefeeder). Can't say a bad thing about any one of them. I don't think you'll have any regrets for snagging a L-N-L. It's built like a brick shithouse and puts out some good stuff. Good luck!

I was fortunate enough to meet a man with what I would call a reloading press museum. He is 70 years old and has been reloading since he was 12. he had just about every press under the sun from titans to dillons to mamoth cast iron press to the lee pocket whack it reloaders. All I can say is the lee presses had a lot of dust on them.
His word on lee. "if you want inexpensve stuff that can be made to work and needs constant attention go lee"

I have the LnL clasic single stage( assume that is what you are thinking) purchased it kit form and has been been 100%

NOTE ON HORNADY FREE BULLETS: Yes you get 500 free bullets with the press purchase but you must look at the free bullet offerings they are limitted and still require about 15.00 in shipping.

http://www.hornady.com/assets/files/promos/2011-get-loaded-form.pdf here for details, still 500 bullets for 15.00 cant beat it. Good for pratice. All in all with the kit, dies and other promos I have 800 bullets out of the deal

the 150 grain 308's are exactly what Id like to hunt with... soo.. seems a bit like a no brainer...

and the LnL single stage is what I was looking at....

I have a Lee 308 die and a Lyman 38/357 die....

I have several LEE brand items. only thing I have not been happy with for the price is the .223 die set. No matter what it felt rough and gritty when resizing. Sent it back and was given a refund no issues. I purchased a lee shotgun slug mold and some lube with the refund.

You really cant go wrong with the lnl clasic kit ( 500 bullets are only for the "kit") I found my kit on ebay for less than 200.00 with free shipping last year. I sold off the hand primer on ebay and got 30.00 ???

got the hornady LnL.

Deprimed and sized 150 cases of 38 spl and 357 Mag today. cleaned em with the ultrasonic cleaner... will load them up this week!

Generally you want to clean the cases before sizing them, to avoid scratching or gunking up your size die.

Hmm. The ultrasonic cleaner said to deprive before cleaning......

You don't really need to deprime before cleaning.

If you want to do so, get yourself a universal decapping die like this one:

Then you can decap, clean, and then resize. You really don't have to though.
