Gauging interest for a shotgun training class

I had a chat with Rob Haught from SymTac and he's willing to come out this way to teach a two-day class. ~$500 per student. Reply if you'd be interested; if we drum up enough enthusiasm to make it worth his while, I'll start looking for a club to host us.

Damn, kinda pricy... My shotgun skills are pretty good, my reloads suck ass though...

Will there be force on force with 12ga simunition? That would be kinda cool. Way more high stakes than airsofting.

No clue on dates. It's basically:

Step 1: reach out to Rob and see if he's ever coming up here from WV or if he'd even be willing to. Done.
Step 2: see if there's enough interest to even fill a class. In progress.
Step 3: find a range that can host us. Figure out what their requirements are, as well as what props they have.
Step 4: pick a date. Rob said his family wants to go to Maine on vacation anyways, so I'm thinking southern NH/ME in the summer or fall would be a good option. Realistically, this probably won't happen for 6+ months, if at all.

Legit, this would be worth every cent of that $500.

If you've never done simunition training, it's a rush. Just don't be a pansy and wear any armor (other than a full face shield). Hurts enough you don't want to get hit, and no 'nah uh, you didn't get me'.

load it 'hot'.
all my 12ga ammo was in the basement on the floor i do not even remember anymore for how many years. not flooded ever, but it is not dry there at all.
i just hope the original double wrap should have helped. it better. :)

Sorry, I deleted my post. After posting it, I think it's in bad taste to talk 'training' in a thread about someone looking for interest in training.

just some crazy stuff they threw at us to be red shirts.

Whatever your mag capacity, load it 'hot'.

Have 2-3 other types of ammo handy, if you loaded buck, have slug/bird shot accessible.
Have someone call out the course of fire:
2buck, 1 slug (top off)
1 slug, 2 buck.........the slug has to be fired first.

You will learn how to manipulate the magazine catch and just become way more comfortable with loading in odd situations that will only happen in the worst possible times.
I’ve done a bunch of three guns and a few tactical shotgun matches.

I’ll top off when I can especially if I’m going to deal with a moving or disappearing target.

Most match stages I’m just using one load. Not a lot of chances to go from say slug to #6 to buck…

Ugh, how many people pulled that post before I deleted it?

Imagine you're in a situation where you have buck loaded, but you need a precision shot, like right now.

I can delete it also. Was responding while you were deleting
All good, I'm not measuring penis size, it was just in response to someone saying they needed to work on their reload game. I'd still strongly, emphatically, push people to get some legit training. There's WAY more to shotguns than just slapping dat trigger yo.
