Fun at the range today.

It's worth checking to see whether or not they will cover it. If they do or if they don't go buy a Ruger SR22 instead.
 
I've heard of this issue with Walthers in .380, but my P22 did it today.View attachment 100579


If I remember correctly, the P22 slide is made out of Zamak, AKA, a fancy industrial name for what we call "pot metal." My friend managed to get his to do that in about 22,000 rounds or so. Smith replaced the entire upper for free. The P22 is basically designed as a throwaway, they're figuring that most people won't shoot it enough for it to ever be a problem.
