Also true. Fingers crossedI think most of us are concerned about the lack of specific commitment to veto the four bills in question specifically discussed in threat below
NH Anti-gun bills in the Senate...
So the letter mentions constitutional carry for NH citizens. My understanding is that constitutional carry in NH is for all Americans. Ami I correct in that?
Any non-felon, of any age, may carry a gun in NH.
Lobbying groups are declaring that the gun confiscation bill is not a 'gun confiscation bill' and therefore Sununu can sign it.
HB696, everyone should read it.
Whenever any peace officer has probable cause to believe that a person has been abused, exploited, or neglected, as defined in RSA 161-F:43 and RSA 173-D:2, that officer shall use all means within reason to prevent further abuse, exploitation, or neglect including, but not limited to:
(a) Confiscating any deadly weapons involved in the alleged abuse, exploitation or neglect.
Cuz Donks (and their lobbyists) lie.http://gencourt.state.nh.us/bill_status/billText.aspx?sy=2019&id=14&txtFormat=html
Dont know how anyone can argue its not a gun confiscation bill when the text of passed bill explicitly DEMANDS that the police confiscate without due process a warrant and dont provide for any due process let alone return of what the bill requires the police to confiscate......
Cuz Donks (and their lobbyists) lie.
Please tell me it is not a certain purportedly pro-2A organization.wait until you discover who is pushing this bill......
Please tell me it is not a certain purportedly pro-2A organization.
Ellen Joyce, a Lebanon obstetrician-gynecologist and the chairwoman of the New Hampshire section of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, pointed to requirements included in the bill that insurers cover contraceptive care as a boon to female patients.
“I have seen firsthand the peace of mind when a young woman gets the birth control that is right for her without worrying about a high co-pay each and every month,” Joyce said.
After reading this and other related threads, it appears that NH might be one Dem governor away from NH being Massachusetts North wrt some of these gun bills. I hope that I am wrong.
Is that the conclusion one is to draw from the last 20 years of elections and legislation thats passed wrt RKBA in NH?
Is that the conclusion one is to draw from the last 20 years of elections and legislation thats passed wrt RKBA in NH?
Unfortunately, yes. The Executive Council, the state Senate, and the state House are controlled by the Dems. Both US Senators and US House Representatives are also Dems. Do you really think that you could stop these bills or other more onerous bills if NH had an anti-gun Dem governor?
He's not wrong though.
If it was a Dem in that seat right now , you would in fact be up shit creek.
You are ignoring the simple fact elections for various bodies in NH have gone back and forth for 2 decades.
This is nothing new
What you're also ignoring is the fact that after the LAST dem over reach just a few years ago we not only regained the house/senate but we did so with veto proof majorities and passed a lot of pro rkba legislation in the last 9 or so years
And we did that even with a bunch of squishy progressive GOP types running the NHGOP........from Jennifer Horn on down......the NHGOP was so inept in 2018 that they failed to recruit people to run in a bunch of house races and handed dems a number of seats
The difference now is that we have solid leadership at the top of the NHGOP
Rinse and repeat for most (not all) of the federal candidates......the inept prior leadership pimped nuggets like pretty kelly, scott brown and several others.......judd greg chose not to run for re-election because he realized the gig was up and voters were not going to have anything to do with his squishy progressive votes in the senate.
OBrien v Shaheen? BAM......thats going to be a knock out........
I suspect you'll be able to run a ham sandwich against Hassan after the debaucles she's stood by with multiple felon's in her office and the most recent hack that exposed personal info of consituents that she wont even speak to/own up to......
The roly poly speaker of the house has been breaking the rules of his own legislative body all year and that's going to come back and slap him in the face I bet........
On the other hand maybe I'm wrong
We'll see next year......but the dems cant control themselves and we all know how that turns out
The bottom line is if you don't educate your friends, family, co-workers, little league parents, etc of these kinds of things the socialists win. NH is no sanctuary of freedom, it is a hill that hasn't been completely taken yet. The problem is too many people move here from shithole states and think they can relax. You can NEVER relax. The fight for freedom never ends. The people who want to take it are ruthless and will do everything in their power to undermine our constitution. No NH is not safe from anything, guns or not. It sucks be we as red blooded Americans need to constantly fight for our freedoms. The men that gave their lives to push the cuck Brits out literally gave everything, the least we can do is step away from Facebook and Youtube for two minutes and keep the commies from kicking in our front door, because they are. If not fixed NOW the southern border will take down the entire Republic.
/rant off
I don't think that I'm ignoring anything as I'm looking at the trend in NH. .
I think you're ignoring everything thats been posted about trends in our legislature over the last 15-20 years
Do you live in NH?
Do you look at the primary/general voting numbers and candidates?
Derek is absolutely correct which is why so many people try to get others to make SOME effort instead of ignoring it or worse complaining about it
I've already answered your questions, so I'm not sure why you feel there is a need to keep attacking me. It's the current state of politics in NH that scares me as it is all blue, except for the governor. NH also favored John Kerry, Obama, and Hillary Clinton in the last 3 presidential elections, so until I see NH voting R or L again, I'm going to remain scared. Take a look at this Wikipedia table and convince me that I don't see a hell of a lot more blue than red since 2006, which is more than at any other time in the last 100 years. I DON'T LIKE THE LOOK OF IT!!!
Stop shooting the messenger.
