Free State AR Mags

Not a fan of the Pmags, there are certain bullet designs that they do not reliably feed in them, at least not in the ones I have used. I have not had a problem with FMJ in them so if that is what you are shooting, you may be all set.

Not in a free state myself, but friends who are have been having good results with the Brownells branded ones. And there is even a link from here to there at the top of the page, unless there isn't.

I've had no issues using FMJ out of PMags, or USGI mags with good springs/followers. I don't shoot HP out of my AR, so I can't really answer to how those feed.

Boghog, you really ought to select a handful of mags and choose the one which runs most reliably in your rifle. Ie, no FTF issues, etc. etc. PMags, from what I understand, are more apt to be reliable with any given rifle.

Personally I run a pair of USGI from early 80s in my Stag lowers (uncle gave them to me). They don't give me issues. Also have a reliable 10 rounder I used in CA.. think it's a C-Products(?).

Most of my mags are Magpul p-mags. I've used them in about five different ARs with no issues that weren't gun related. That aside, they are more in price compared to aluminum or steel mags. I pay approximately 12 to 14 dollars for p-mags and 7 to 10 dollars for steel/aluminum.
