Found an old gun cleaning kit

Not sure of the date but this cleaning kit was found in my parents basement. He believes this was left there by an uncle in the late 70's. The red plastic box is from an old tool set so it just is a storage device.

These turn up at yard/estate sales, sometimes older with metal boxes....then I ask, "you have anything that goes with it?"

I'm cheap.....I use the solvents and patches!

Everything is in great shape except I tossed the old soaked patches, rags, and the silicote gun lube had a busted tube that was eaten away.

Im guessing by the smell of the old Hoppes 9 bottle it still has plenty of life. Is linseed oil for refinishing wood stocks? Ive never used gun grease just Rem oil, any benefits in the grease?

The grease is thicker - it's good for choke tubes. The linsed oil is for finishing stocks, but if it's old, I'd pass on it...it can get sticky with age. If the Hoppe's was capped, you're good to go.
