Well, I'm not sure what to say about this. They say, if the State does not do it, the Feds will.

I don't think I should need a license to fish, but if I needed one I'd rather get it from the state.

Still think it's BS though.

personally I don't think that you should need a license to fish or hunt.

I can somewhat see having the hunter safety course (which I personally think should be rolled into the firearms safety course as a all in one deal), but again, that is more of a safety thing.

I guess i can see having the permit to limit the numbers of critters hunted to keep from killing them off...

mmm... may have just opened a can of worms on the fishing...

It's just another way for NOAA to try to justify its existence. Their data on the recreational catch is poop. Once they get the saltwater license in place, their data will still be a big steaming pile of:

The only difference is that now 1) we get to pay more taxes and 2) the authorities have yet another law which will be selectively enforced.
