For those wanting to go tor four seasons

Jesus, what are you a doctor or something?

Great Sheep reply. C'mon Man, don't fall for the panic porn like a teenage girl. Love the tards that are shitting their panties faster than Biden at the Pope's....over a "variant" that has symptoms like a mild cold. "A day or two of muscle aches, and a mild cough". The whole covid scam it the epitome of a Statist takeover of the country, and a lot of sheep here are eating it up.

I was there last week and it was packed shoulder to shoulder. I wonder what day this exposure happened. I also got the email plus an email yesterday that said they were closing early because of a power outage. I wonder if that Covid was the real reason and there was no power outage
🤷 Wouldn't be surprised.

Local restaurant/bar in Hallowell (just outside of Augusta). No masks on anyone.

Spoke with some of the locals at a few places. My impression is vaccine rate up there is significantly less than around here.
There's anecdotal evidence that the vax, as its effectiveness wanes, may actually be causing variants to develop. Seems the cooties that survive the vax develop a resistance to the vax.

I'm no scientist, just repeating what some have published.

So what?

At least the business is not being a d*ck about it.

They are not asking people to wear masks or show proof of vaccination.

Maybe the plexiglass doesn't do sh*t. Maybe it has to do with liability? ... or maybe it is just to make a few people feel "safe".

But the most important part is they are not being d*cks about it to customers.
LOL dude let me explain
1. They were asking for customers to wear a mask, but not requiring. Still, they put it out there that
2. Plexiglass to make customers feel safe? The MA gun community?

It's not about sticking to customers, it's them falling into the wu-flu fear-mongering. I understand it's a bunch of old men in that shop and they want to be "protected", but plenty of gun shops do fine without full-blown panic response due to someone merely "exposed". It has nothing to do with liability. It's stupid. That's all.

Did I read somewhere, yesterday, that he actually said Santa Claus would help with the nation's supply woes?

Maybe St Nick is going to bring us all a new AK.
Meh, what's second prize?

So what’s it like in there? Is it like ordering soup at the soup Nazi?
The salesmen are uniformly uninterested in completing the sale
until they're convinced you know how to run the controls,
and aren't in such a froth to finger-<bleep> your new purchase
that you have a Parking Lot Pop.

The abutters hate Parking Lot Pops.

Maybe the plexiglass ... is just to make a few people feel "safe".

But the most important part is they are not being d*cks about it to customers.

Ya, but last week they did have a guy at the door taking names and writing them down for the contact trace BS.
I can roll with that.
(As long as they don't cross-match with the 4473's).

... I thought it was hilarious. Dude just had a 75c notebook writing down first names.

Because it's Carl's job to Speak Truth to Chyna Virus -
even if some Karen in the Woburn Board of Health
decides to use it as an excuse to cancel his business.

But if Carl takes it in the shorts, is it your job to step up
and make him and his employees whole?

First names only and I was there last week. That happens when it gets crowded. That won't help them trace. All they need to do is look at reciepts.
Ca$h is King at FS.

I think its stupid but, lets put it this way. It's the biggest shop by volume in MA with a business model focused around a stereotypical MA townie/LCD/boring gun buyer. Obvious outcome is obvious. Their average customers are likely far more sheepy and kareney than the "NES mean" as well as the profile of the shop etc. After a point "risk management" stuff comes into play, there is this perception (or reality?) that larger operations are going to face greater risks than smaller ones etc. I mean lets be honest- Say I own a small gun shop somewhere with a small but loyal customer base and I have a "f*** covidiocy" policy.... who do you think is going to get shut down first? Me or DTE? DTE is going to get clapped first because some libtard LTC holder (probably many of which every day walk through the doors at DTE) might shop there and go full karen and then rat/complain on them like a dirty snake. Meanwhile at my theoretical shop, one libtard a year might walk through the door. My risk is a lot lower than his, up front.

It's no different than during the gun shop lockdown where typical MA retail places like this were shut down but if "you knew a guy" you were still easily getting your transfers done
wether the state liked it or not. Places like DTE are not going to take that risk. It's just not in the cards.

I would be more shocked if bigs didn't do stuff like this, honestly thats how stereotypical this sort of risk management stuff has become. Look at the sig pro shop for
instance, at one point they had a goddam thermometer thing at the door and if your temp was too hot they barred you from entry. [rofl]

The bigger a thing gets the more business-ey and business-corporate-like-lard that goes on the pile and more irrational and touchy people are going to get about edge liability/risk management etc.

It's not just gun shops either- point of contrast, Remember during covidiocy early on when restauraunts were finally allowed to allow sit down dining again in some areas? While these
small and medium restauraunts were doing eat-in dining, big corpo types like McDoudenals and so on still had all their seating cordoned off or blocked and were doing take out
only. Someone obviously made a risk management calculation based on perceived or maybe wholly imagined risks to reach that kind of stupid outcome. This sort of thing
really isnt any different. If consumers dont like it they need to stay away from whatever the sector equivalent of Grizzlebees is... not exactly rocket science.

Some rando NES guy: "BUT MIKE!!! PEOPLE LOOOOVE GRIZZLEBEES!!!! WHY U HATE SO MUCH?"

Me: Not hating, just discussing reality. And for the Grizzlebees fan, im glad they like it. However, they just need to accept whatever BS comes with the
territory. Because Grizzlebees sure as hell ain't changing.

NES is full of sheep c*nts. I would say NES is exactly the customer type for that shop.

There are like 30 people here that are not a bunch of sheep, you probably already know all their SN and maybe met them all.

I think the avg MA gun owner demo though is horrendously worse than NES is though, we just don't see it because they don't actually post here.

It gets more visible when you go to some MA ranges and these people show up and you run into them in real life.

That covid scam killed three kids in my Daughter's day program, almost killed a friend, and my Daughter is now going threw it.

Ok, that is a valid point.

OK. I wasn't aware of that.
Because it’s not true. The “list of names” is a holdover from when the state was enforcing occupancy limits. You gave your name and cell number and went and sat in your vehicle until you were called. It was a way to ensure “first come first served” in lieu of the “Deli Tickets.” No one has been asked for their name for contact tracing purposes.

You do realize that in order to purchase a firearm or ammunition at ANY gun shop you have to present your FID/LTC which has your contact information?

I've known Carl since he took the store over in the early 90's. To use an old cliché, the man would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

How does that apply to a business, will he sell things at a loss ?

Like if I neeeeeed a $1k handgun for $50 he will sell it to me ?
