For the die hard AK collector

Eh...fluff...I would be all over it if it didn't have the 922r compliant parts..and was all Russian.

Application? really? Museums?

Only 100 gold additions will have a real autograph though.

Reminds me of the Vietnam Commemorative Mak90.

what is the price?

So they are using a stamped receiver and a Bulgarian mag?? probably recycled plywood stock too. [rolleyes]

Don't know the price but you have to put in an application to get a chance at getting one. Considering the MSRPs price on Arsenal's 74s is just under $1000, I'm sure these are probably at least $4000.

Not that it doesn't have a very high cool factor, but doesn't that go against the whole idea of an AK? I thought the appeal was the rugged, utilitarian features of an AK.

that was before the "breakup of the Eastern bloc" now they are more capitalist, money-hungry bastards than anyone on the planet. They have been whoring out Kalashnikov name on cheap crap.

something like that is not what the AK love is for me. Im hung up on the utilitarian, non sexy, ease of manufacture and lack of any training to figure out how to use it,fix it,build it.

AK to be stored in the field, washed in a muddle puddle and lubed with baccon fat...and helga can shoot that thing.

Yes.

A "gold edition" AK is like, I don't know, a gold edition chainsaw or a gold edition sledge hammer.

I can appreciate the art, but, would you ever let it go bang?

I always chuckle when I see the wooden vertical grips. They look like they were built in a high school woodshop class.

don't tell that to Romanians, they would impale you. I used to laugh too, but those grips actually grow on you. I like them a lot, but looks can be better, I agree.

Yes I agree Boris. They grew on me as well and I have grown to like it. I originally left the foregrip on as I wanted this AK to be a Milsurp AK. The Romanians issued it with a foregrip so that was the way I was going to keep it. It is an original M63 Romanian Army AK-47 kit that saw service for many years. It is an all matching kit that I built on a Nodak Spud receiver. I do not use the foregrip by gripping it in a vertical position, but rather grip the handguard and rest the lower part of my palm against the foregrip in the way describe by Magpul Dynamics. It is very comfortable and you can exert a greater level of control.

I would pay it for a gold edition! I filled out my collector edition paperwork. Keep your fingers crossed guys!!!!!
