Flying out of Boston

Looking to see if anyone from MA has flied out of Logan Airport and checked a firearm in to bring to North Carolina. Was it an easy process to go through both fling out and back?

Couldn’t be easier. Walk up to the counter tell them you need to sign a Firearms declaration. When you get to your destination you will most likely be called to a secure area to pick it up. Thousands of people do it every day.

Standard advice is to print out the flying-with-guns rules and regs from the FAA and your airline, and have them in your pocket in case the gate agent gets creative. Just follow all the printed rules and you should be fine. Lots of threads on this subject.

Delta takes it to their service desk and does a song and dance with a giant zip tie.
Jet Blue puts it on the belt like ordinary luggage.

If you're flying with someone else, it can't hurt to ask how their airline handles this.

Read their policies and follow them religiously and you'll be fine. Jet Blue is very specific about how everything gets packed to meet their demands.

Thanks for the tips, super easy process with Jetblue airlines. Loved that I could bring my EDC with me for the trip. Maybe about an extra 45-60 seconds for checking my suitcase both flying out and coming back to Boston.
