Flaherty named permanent COP in Arlington

Arlington has named interim (for over a year) COP Juliann Flaherty the official COP. She will be Arlington’s first-ever female COP.

I have not gone through a renewal under her nor happen to know anyone who newly applied under her, so I don’t know how she affects Arlington’s green/yellow/red/black status.

In Arlington, go to the Records window on the second floor and ask for an "appointment." May have to wait a couple of days; never heard of it being longer. At the "appointment," answer the questions while the very pleasant and helpful staff types the stuff into the computer. Smile for the camera; wipe the ink off your fingers; and write a check. Renewal shows up a couple of weeks later, and the same great folks will call you on the phone when it is ready to be picked up. Original licenses probably take a bit longer, but assuming no negatives in one's history, process is the same.

Oh, and the renewals all start on the date your present one expires: no lost time.

Just applied for a new license under her in Fall 2019 - No issues. To be honest they didn’t even ask a single question about anything. Just took down the information, fingerprints, then the waiting. Unrestricted LTC issued in just under 3 months.
