I had a pretty stupid accident the other night. While organizing my cheap Field & Stream safe (something better is on my shortlist) I knocked out the pin that holds one of the pistol shelves. Three of my late stepfather's revolvers fell to the floor, causing two of them to have small dents, scratches, whatever you want to call them. Does anyone know of a gunsmith that could fix or at least minimize the damage? The marks are tiny but driving me crazy given the sentimental value of these guns. They are common and not super valuable models, it is more about preserving them as he had them. Thanks!

Greg Derr worked over my Model 19. He chamfered the charge holes, changed the sights, performed a trigger job, and fixed a couple pits in left side of the frame. Then he sent it out for rebluing. It came out beautifully.

Bummer about the accident! 😞 You might not need a full-on gunsmith for those minor blemishes.

There might be a lengthy wait list for Greg Derr too. I’ve had Chris Kielty, Precision Point in Woburn, do some non-cosmetic work and he was quick and reasonable. I don’t know if he does cosmetic work, but he may be worth reaching out to. Maybe he partners with someone for those issues if he doesn’t do it himself.
