Picked up a new Remington R1 over the weekend and took it to the range.
My overall impressions… you get what you pay for. It shot fine, but the sights are off (and they are fixed) and the trigger is bad IMO. I will probably use this gun as the basis for my next build.
Pro’s of the gun:
Nice slide/frame fit
Bushing/barrel is very tight
Nice stock grips
Con’s of the gun:
Fixed sights
Factory trigger is too short for me (and I have small hands). The trigger sits too deep into the frame during the pull.
Trigger did not break cleanly IMO (came in at 5.75-6.0lbs)
Spur Hammer
No checkering on the front part of grip
“Cheap” mainspring housing (atleast it is metal though)
I would recommend this gun to someone as long as they new that it could use some work.
