I finished this build last week. I had liked the looks of the M&P15 Tactical
but didnt want a pinned collapsable stock, and I wanted a 1 in 7 barrel
with a brake. So I decided to build my first AR. I went with the 14.5 middy,
test fired it on Sunday and was amazed how soft it was shooting and had
almost zero muzzle rise.

Future add-ons: Eotech, Magpul XTM rail covers, BCM's new grip, and a Surefire at some point.

very nice. what do you think of the length of the ace entry stock? i have the rifle length on my carbine and i feel like it is too long, but im not sure if the entry will be too short to shoot comfortably.

sweet! how do you like the battle trigger? i am considering upgrading my spikes milspec but dont want/need to spend hundreds on a competition trigger.

Thanks guys! Chris, I got the one inch pad for it Im 5'9" its been very comfortable so far but this could just be my personal preference. With the pad it has a LOP of about 11.375". Josh, the battle trigger is pretty smooth and feels clean but its fairly heavy as of now Im hoping it lightens up after some use.

Nice job.

Mind telling us the total cost ?

Sweet build.... I ordered an ace stock a couple days ago did it come with an assembly?....or do I have to get the tube and everything seperate?

Did you order the shorter Ace stock or the longer one? I have a longer one and I had to buy the extension tube separately. I believe the shorter one comes with everything.

This price doesnt include any shipping costs or taxes I had to pay for the lower or Troy products that are from MA. I bought armorers tool, roll pin punches, upper reciever vise block, torque wrench, laser bore sight, extra take down pin detents (One did go flying off never to be found, second attempt i did inside a box). The Ace Entry does come with the buffer tube unlike the longer version but it didnt fit the M&P lower, so I had to order the entry tube from RRA which fit perfect. I also had Greg Derr pin the muzzle brake on for 40 bucks. And I bought a USGI field guage for 50.

I ordered the longer version from http://www.model1sales.com/ after seeing it linked on the forum here and it came with the tube, spring, and buffer for $90....great deal! it's sitting on top of the box with the upper in it waiting for the NES lower to arrive

Thanks. It was just a cheap one I got off amazon. I have not fired with it on but I'm sure it would work fine though. Its the UTG Low Profile.
