Just turned 18 on the 27th and wanted to get something nice. It was the only thing I asked for, but I had to wait until today to go down to FS and pick one up.

It's beautiful

Anyone else get anything good for their birthdays?

I Got a Beretta 92fs INOX for my birthday and was pleasantly surprised my wife did that for me. I have still not shot it but regardless of how it shoots this one isnt going anywhere. Sometimes the other half actually does nice things for me. Good luck with your shotgun! Im sure it will be fun.

Bought myself this for my 49th. Ordered end of may. Didn't get it untill a week ago. Just shot about 50 rounds through it last Thr.

Firearms are more a Christmas thing in our house, it's so much fun to see the faces of my in-laws and my family when everyone is opening Guns & Ammo from under the tree and splatter targets & holsters as stocking stuffers; http://www.northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/threads/117280#1

Although last year I came across a "used as new" Bushie AR the week before my oldest daughters birthday up @ Bob's Original so I bought it for her. You really can't go wrong with an AR as a gift, it just says " I Love You " [wink]

Nice 870, I bought myself the same model last year. Havnt gotten anything given to me on my birthday (never any firearms, since noone else in my family shoots) since two years ago on my 18th

Got a Springfield armory operator with regular light rail, black armory kote, raven concealment holster , streamlight tlr1s, and the new g10 crimsontrace when they are available. Happy 30th to me a little early!!!!!

The lady is getting a P238 for Xmas this year.

Mine too, the first gun I ever bought her was a Walther PPK 380 w/Crimson Trace Grip and I fire it more than she does. She says it's too hard to rack the slide. It's supposed to be her carry gun but she won't carry it and she says her Beretta 92FS is too big. I've been checking out those P238 every time I go into a gun shop. It's like a mini 1911 and real smooth action. The only other small gun I've been looking at is the S&W Bodyguard and it seems kinda choochie compared with the Sig.

The real question is which one is she getting; http://sigsauer.com/CatalogProductList/pistols-p238.aspx

The only present that someone else bought me was a Model 18 that my wife bought for our 30th anniversary. Other than that, I bought them for myself. S&W 442 for my 40th, Glock G23 for my 50th, Marlin 336c for 55. Oh, my wife bought me a very nice gun safe last year, if that counts.

Traditionally I buy at least one gun on/near my birthday, although this year went off the rails. It was never really anything to do with my birthday specifically, it just so happened that when I got my first LTC I had it before it actually went active, which was my birthday. I've never had anyone else buy one for me, though.

your lucky to get anything firearms related unless your spouse/simpling are as into it as you. I purchased a shotgun(for trap shooting) for my wife hoping to fire her up...............hahhah no, best I can expect is another shirt, pants, LL bean something.....I have not recieved much of anything I wanted for xmass since the big score of StarWars stuff in 1982 I was 11. My mother bought me a simon says after many many years of asking for one.....WHEN I WAS 30 15 years to late., and a cheap mini copy to boot.

Usually when someone "gifts" me a gun they normally just give me the funds for purchase or go along with me and pay for item while i fill out the required forms. You can gift a firearm if you both have the required license and go to an FFL and do a transfer. I guess that is how it could be also done. My way is easy enough, for me anyway.

I got a mosin for fathers day. My last birthday we were saving for our wedding so I didn't get much but this xmas will be fun because the wife will have her ltc :) can't wait to see what santa puts under the tree

She wants the Nitron, but I only ever see the Rosewood in stores.

When I was dating my wife she bought me a Colt AR-15 20" H-bar as a gift. I married her and that was the last gun she bought me. She has give me great gift like a gift certificate to Markover farms (pheasant hunting).
Good luck with your purchase.

I always wanted to give a gun as a gift, but have been leery of straw purchases. How do you legally do it?

That's my mom's concern, she wanted to get me a karh e9, but then started reading the MA bs (she lives in CA), and said she'd just give me the money for one, or get me a gift cert for a place like Bud's, or KTP (primarily because she loves KTP).

I gave one granddaughter a Cricket 22 on her 8th birthday, a Henry 22 levergun for her 12th birthday, and a 22 revolver on her 16th.

Another granddaughter got a Cricket on her 6th birthday and Henry 22 levergun on her 10th.

They make great gifts to give!

In MA the best way to do this is for the buyer to go to the dealer and say "I want buy a gun for so and so as a gift, can I buy it for him, and then he can do the transfer after XX? You can do it that way, or you can just have the person get you a gift cert from the store to cover the cost of the gun or whatever.

In free states as long as the giver and recipient are both residents of the same state you just buy the gun, and give it to the person. Just like you would normally.

In MA two licensed persons could -kinda- do this, but it's stupid to burn up an FA-10 in the process, unless the gun was
a gun you already owned or something.

I gave my girlfriend a Beretta neos for her birthday once. My birthday is coming up the end of this week I'm betting I'm not getting one.

Oh and like Drgrant said I paid for it she did the paperwork. I asked about buying one as a gift and I was told I could just buy it and give it to someone.

I would not surprise someone with a gun for christmas unless it were the exact one they said they wanted. Its like buying someone a pair of shoes they have never tried on.

In this state those gifts amount to a paperwork nightmare. But as your signature says: "Freedom has ceased to be a birthright; it has come to mean whatever we are still permitted to do."

The kids are still young. The guns are still mine..legally. When they're old enough, they'll get them legally. An Fa10 does it...no big deal.

I disagree. If someone gets me a gun as a gift, I'm going to love it, no matter what it is. My ice bought be my first 1911 and I love it. When I left MA, I gave my best friends wife a Jennings and she loves it. Gun's are fun a d always make the perfect gift.
