"About eight or 10 kids came and started throwing things at him, and then they left and came back with more kids, and then they stood there and taunted us and told him they were going to **** him up," Serena Holmberg said. Serena Holmberg said she called the police, but by the time she got off the phone, the group of kids started attacking her husband.

“A group of about 8 to 10 kids were hopping fences, jumping on cars. We said, ‘Hey guys, stop, that's people's property,” and they told us to (expletive) off, they were gonna (expletive) us up."
White Feather

If these "children" did this....I say bring back the Pillory.....some good old fashioned public humiliation.....say 30 Minutes for each year they have been alive? (since the older they are the more they should know better)

If the Captain committed this offence unprovoked, then he deserves whatever punishment he gets.

They are just misunderstood yutes. Shame on the Fire Captain for trying to show dem what's right and honorable in dis world. Know wh'um sayin'?

Look, this is the future. (and the present!). Kids have no parenting, the parents are OFTEN as bad or worse, and this is the sh*t that is now the norm in places that aren't in a quiet, upscale, "good" town. (anyone who's ever coached, umpired, reffed a game in a city will attest to this).
Look at what kids are being taught. If they even have parents, you're taught to act out and misbehave and if you get into "trouble", you simply deny deny deny, yell racism or yell that the adult threatened you with a gun, etc etc etc...
7 news had an interview with the captain's wife. Surely she's biased, but her version is that Captain Good was yelling at the kids to stop messing up someone's property(s) during their neighborhood night of "wilding"...
Then 7 news cut to one of the parents. I'm unable to quote exactly from memory, but the" parent" said, basically, "Dat man dun be racism cuz deez kids, dey weren't doin' nuttin and dis guy just started to be attackin dem and sh*t (bleeped out by ch. 7) and dey screamed at him to stop dat"...

Cuz we all know, surely, that this MEAN Revere Fire Captain just finished his dinner, gathered up the wife and his kid, and told them "OK, get your costumes on and we'll all go out and harass anyone we come across who isn't white."

Cue Al Sharpton, cue Jesse Jackson, and if Revere has a local Baptist church, cue up the local minister there also. And, bottom line, let's just assume that the white guy is the issue, the problem, the bad person in this incident. Cuz even if he was doing the right thing, he's completely f*cked now either way.

Which reinforces what many of us have said in this forum. Unless YOUR life or YOUR family is in immediate, life threatening danger, never ever draw your weapon or even mention one. Imagine if the pack of eight to ten yutes decided to shank honky and he pulled his legal CCW. He'd already be watching from home as the Mayor and Chief, after consulting with Deval, draw up Captain Honky's termination papers...

And welcome to the future. And the present. And, when "repeal Constitutional Amendment #2 Maura" is our new attorney general, welcome to your future and present - as you're unarmed in this completely effed-up state ...

Sad that kids these days do messed up stuff knowing/thinking that there are NO consequences for their actions.

The kids aren't the ones who will be held responsible - because they're "just kids", and as an adult he should have just walked away? [rolleyes]
When you have a group of punks... they will be punks and have no respect for adults or authority - especially in a group.

I'm not condoning what this guy did, but definitely can see where he could have been put into a hard position. Golf club though??

And you know how this individual votes, how....?

Not sure just how "he" votes but the PFFM backs the politicians ( coakley ) who allow the continued degradation of morals and make it easier for kids to be animals.
Im pretty sure the politcal history of the unions here in mass tend to favor the socialist/communist agenda.

The times for right and wrong and basic decency and respect are failing fast... I know if this happened back in my youth in JP 1st wave as punishment would come from the grand parrents and when mom and dad got home from work 2nd wave.... I can say there was not alot of this BS going on with "kids" . Police involvement was rare also.

I've never seen a firefighter or the firefighter union march or support in any way any other party other than democrat. So I think one might fashion a good guess as to how this man votes or once voted.

I agree, golf club was an inappropriate defensive tool against what sounds like a mob of a dozen or two teenagers. Better than nothing, though.

Revere, the next up and coming Lawrence....[thinking]

A friend of mine pronounces it "Reverie" says it gives the place a whole new spin.

My buddy grew up there and describes going around as a kid to raise money for a hockey trip. They walked into a pool room, full of smoke and guys with suits. After describing why they were there, the Big Boss said to one of his "Assistants" "Give him three bills." They raised $40 from the rest of the community and $300 from the local Mafioso....

Not all fireman and police vote democrat. I don't. Most I know don't.

I am not knocking firefighters but this incident could be interpreted as an example of the system beginning to devour itself.

A much better example is the standoff between militarized police in Ferguson, MO and our country's highest profile protected class.

Typical liberal media crap.
It said ONE of them was 11
No mention of how old the rest of the group was.
It should be pretty clear at this point to the rest of the public servants there how fast thier officials will heave them under a bus.
Worked nights for 15 years in Revere, the nuke from orbit option works for me.

The step father of one of the yutes said they were 11, 13, 14, etc. He said two went to the hospital but they were not injured and all are fine.

I'm no fan of firefighters but I find it highly improbable that a father trick or treating with his wife and 6 yr old would start something. I think the group of yutes were out harassing people for fun that night.

Yea, a guy on the news they interviewed who saw the incident said "those kids are being profiled", yea a gang of youths attacking a white guy, bringing him to the ground, jumping on him is racial profiling... Jeebus.

Well, I drive by the Florian hall in Dorchester every day, and last week they were all out there with Martha Coakley signs, and had buses running everywhere with similar signage as it was a full-on Democratic election support activity. I don't want to generalize but I think that public sector unions (like firefighters) certainly lean significantly that way as that is who the unions always support. I'm not saying everyone, but can you tell me that all of the big city firefighters round these parts are Republicans or Libertarians?

The the DemocRAT mayors and selectmen in this state give the Firemen their raises, so that's who they support. That's why the governor of Wisconsin was so popular with the non Union households. He severely limited collective bargaining in the Public Sector Unions. They should be outlawed.
