Stewart Wallin, owner of Get Some Guns in the Salt Lake City suburb of Murray, Utah, said he sold nine assault weapons the day after Obama was elected. That same day, the gun store Cheaper Than Dirt! in Fort Worth, Texas, sold $101,000 worth of merchandise, shattering its single-day sales record, store owner DeWayne Irwin said

Love it!!

I stopped by blue northern today and it was rather busy.....they said theyve been flat out since tuesday..... if i were a politician perhaps i would take note and think twice about any radical legislation

The great thing is CTD raised their prices on almost everything as soon as they saw the sales spike.... [thinking]

It sure has motivated me. So far I've picked up more ammo, Mossberg 500, Striped M&P lower, and a new Smith & Wesson 317 for the wife.
I'm thinking a new .308 Savage is coming too.

Ruger is having an Inaguration Special on 20 round Mini-14 magazines - which is about the closest thing to a formal apology for Bennedict Bill's letter to congress as you can come without speaking ill of the dead. Ruger just made it back on my approved vendor list.

Wait until Benedict Bill whips out the "child proof" gun and the microstamping.... I wouldn't go pulling him off my shit list just yet.

How does one make a gun child-proof anyway? 30 pound trigger pull? Biometric lock? 400 trigger activation points (play on the 1911 grip saftey)?

I guess it is no longer Cheaper Than Dirt.

Dirt is pretty expensive....

... I bought 5 new firearms BEFORE I knew Obama took office.... I've also purchased about 3500 rnds of ammo since Tuesday (of course 2200 is 22lr; since I'm getting my 22lr AR-15 upper next week)

The same way one makes a mitre saw, nail gun, kitchen knife, or automobile child-safe. [thinking] This ought to be a good one hugh? How about we as parents teach our kids how to have common sense and be safe around all these things.

Check this quote out from the article-

Helmke said. "I guess if you're a dangerous person you might want to run out there and buy some more, but otherwise you should be OK."

So he is basically saying all those law abiding gun owners who are flocking to the gun stores and having background checks done as they purchase their "soon-to-be-banned" firearms are now dangerous. [hmmm] What an ass.

I stopped by a local gunshop today and the owner told me it is crazy busy, more than when Brady was going down.

I bought a Glock 22 today in anticipation of the continuing economic downturn and our conversion to socialism. Yes, we face a danger with a socialist President and a a left wing congress. It's easier for them to limit sales of guns and ammo than take them away, so now is the time to make hay while the sun shines. I will purchase some more ammo this month on that Buy AMMO Day -- what day was that again?

The whole point of this is to get dangerous. Take it as a compliment.

Anyone think this will get worse as weeks pass or will it die down?

They will be too busy dealing with bail outs and so called stimulus packages to really get their hands around gun control issues. Too many out of work, broke, pissed off people. If and when things simmer down, that's when the issue will rear it's ugly head. GM is about to go under. GM!!! How much of a bail out is required for them to totally reinvent themselves into a profitible entity in a nation that doesn't have money or credit to buy enough cars. They're done. Stick a fork in them.

Hey, I'm sorry you're out of work, homeless, and the dollar bills that you still have left are completely worthless, but I'm here to take your guns.

Nahhh, not right now. Gun sales will level off for now.

IMO, CTD can ram it. More expensive then some other reputable websites I've bought, RAPE you on shipping, and no tech support over the phone anymore. [rolleyes]

Miracle electronics that use some form of biometrics to keep unauthorized people from firing the gun. Sound complicated? Want to rely on that gun? When the cops are forced to rely on this, then I will entertain the thought of maybe buying this type of gun for a curiosity.

PS: Good meeting you at the game tonight. Next time hopefully I won't lose as much money to you... [smile]

Maybe it will work as well as the biometric readers at gun shops that take about 10 minutes to train as you move your finger all over the pad.[grin]
