"FDA Approves Military Device for Civilian Gunshot Wounds"

http://www.celoxmedical.com/usa/products/usaproductscelox-a/

already available.

Chitosan is a natural polysaccharide (polymer made of sugars) and made of basic sugars (glucosamine & n-acetyl glucosamine). Celox™ does NOT use non degrading procoagulant minerals or nano particles such as kaolin, smectite or zeolite, which will remain in the body indefinitely unless physically removed.

made from shrimp shells and left in the body will metabolize into glucosamine; these injectors/this material can even be used in hard organs because of this.

That appears to be a different product.

The blurb on the new one is that you have 92 compressed sponges which are injected into the wound where they swell and apply pressure from the inside. It isn't just a clotting agent.

+1. It appears to be very different from the traditional clotting agents like Celox or Quikclot.

it is. the up side is you don't need to remove all the sponges. just a different kind of hemostat. apparently you need a prescription for this new device though according to their webpage.
