The FBI is investigating a Thursday shooting at a Texas naval air station, after a Navy security team there killed an “Arab male” who stormed a gate at the base, a U.S. official told USNI News..

NSF responded to an active shooter at NAS Corpus Christi at about 7:15 a.m. EST resulting in the injury to the NSF sailor. The shooter was killed by the NSF forces, the official told USNI News.

“The sailor is in good condition and is expected to be released later today,” the Navy said in a statement.

The base remains on lockdown while an investigation into the shooting commences.

An FBI spokeswoman did not provide additional details when contacted by USNI News.

“All gates on the installation remain closed while first responders process the scene,” according to a statement from the service.
“NCIS, state and local law enforcement are on scene.”

Corpus Christi police said the incident took place at one of the air station’s gates.

Naval Air Station Corpus Christi is home to the four squadrons of Training Air Wing Four, which uses Truax Field on base and outlying airfields. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and foreign student pilots train at the base.

Naval Air Station Corpus Christi also houses the Corpus Christi Army Depot which serves as the primary maintenance depot for Department of Defense rotary-wing aircraft. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Service also operates from Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.

Last year the NSF fatally shot Daniel King after he drove a stolen sport utility vehicle onto the base through an exit, according to KRIS 6 News in Corpus Christi. At the time, Navy investigators and local law enforcement officers did not have a motive for the King’s actions.

FBI says Texas naval base shooting is ‘terrorism-related’

A shooting at a Texas naval air station that wounded a sailor and left the gunman dead early Thursday was being investigated as "terrorism-related," the FBI said, but divulged few details as to why.

At about 6:15 a.m., the gunman, who has not been identified, tried to speed through a security gate at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, opening fire and wounding the sailor, a member of base security, U.S. officials told The Associated Press. But she was able to roll over and hit the switch that raised a barrier, preventing the man from getting onto the base, the officials said.

Good on the sailor for keeping her shit together and hitting that barrier button after taking a hit helping to stop this before anyone else got hurt.

And good on the shooters for going all Eazy-E on this guy.
I just smoke motherf***ers like it ain't no thang

Why do we continue to import a group that has a ridiculously high percentage of wanting to kill us?

We still haven’t learned - maybe the next attack will wake up the politicians.

The politicians do it on purpose to weaken us. They know.

You know, this probably is the WORST time to storm a military installation. Hospital?? Maybe. Military base?? Pretty dumb.

They are on alert and no leave until end of next month. EVERYONE is on alert in general. Wu-Flu has altered how they do rotations and such. Not a smart time. And none of this is private info. An hour on the Interwebs and you'd know all of this.

Terrorists are supposed to be smart. This guy might be high-end crackpot.

It's a combination of malice and stupidity.

Kinda like, why when faced with a Chinese virus, do we not do what we always have, namely quarantine the sick and protect the vulnerable, and encourage all who can to get fresh air and sunshine, but instead, SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN and lock everyone inside?
