A Fall River man has been arrested on multiple gun charges including cutting down a firearm.

According to Captain Barden Castro, at approximately 5:45 p.m., members of the Fall River Police Vice Gang and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of Osborn Street.

While inside the residence, detectives located a loaded Winchester shotgun. The shotgun appeared to be cut down in length making it a “sawed off shotgun” which is prohibited under Massachusetts law.

The real crime here is he shorten the barrel of the shotgun but not the stock. That's just like carrying a snub-nosed G-17.
The real crime is that Massachusetts has a prohibition on sawing off the barrel of a shotgun.....along with all the rest of the absurd gun laws.

Based on the 2 3/4 inch shells for reference, it is probably damn near 18". His OCD caused him to cut it to the end of the tube. It would have been much more asthetically pleasing and made my OCD happier if he had cut it to include the next vent rib support...
