F 35B Landing On USS Wasp


This video link is fresh (for the public). It was made just six weeks ago in the Atlantic,
just off Newport News ( Hampton Roads), Virginia.



These are the latest sea trials of the F-35B on the USS Wasp.
They were very successful, with 74 VL's and STO's in a three week period.
The aircraft is also stealth, and super-sonic.
No catapult... No hook.... Its a new world out there!

Hey I made parts for those a few years ago !!

There's a cool movie about that plane on Netflix. It follows the trials of that plane and Boeings when they where competing for the contract .

If I remember right the navy didnt like the fact it only has one motor . They prefer there planes to have two incase one fails over water .

Very cool. I did an overnight "dependents tour" on the Wasp as she was being certified. My family got the tour because the medical spaces were dedicated to my grandfather. It is a very cool ship, wish they had done flight ops while I was there, but did get to explore and see them launch hover craft/assault boats. The CIC was also way cool.
