Are you sure the 15 is DA only or is the hammer just bobbed?
DAO. The hammer cannot be held back. I have tried every way possible to
try to get that to stay back by manipulating the trigger and pulling the hammer
back manually and it doesn't do it.
I was trying to feel if there was anything along the trigger travel to see if
it would indicate something/whatever and I couldn't. It seems to be as smooth
as it could be and the break seems to be smooth as well.
Whoever did it did a pretty good job. The screws are not hacked up at all nor
are there any disassembly/reassembly marks on the gun that I can see.

Many Gunsmiths offered DAO conversions. S&W offers it also. Either way, the three you posted are fine looking specimens. They will serve you well.
Regards,
Other than personal preference, what reason would anyone prefer a DAO
over a SA/DA enough to do a conversion? I am struggling to figure out
why anyone would do this. What are the SA/DA negatives vs the DAO
positives?

Very, very, nice. I had a Model 15, but traded it for something. If I'd only known... I also had a Model 66, which I traded in for something. Again...
What's interesting is that I don't know what I traded either gun for and I don't have whatever they were, but I DO remember the two Smiths.
I'll never sell the Model 10 I picked up for short money in October 2005.

I added the 66-2 for you.
I'm looking for an M10 as well.
