The Governor has declared a state of emergency making it illegal to be on the road after 4 PM "for the duration of the storm" or at least until it is lifted. The blizzard warning continues until 1 PM tomorrow, and the snow continues until nightfall.
The penalty is up to a $500 fine and/or up to one year in prison. "The point is not to figure out how to come down hard on people; it's to emphasize that non-essential travel on the roads cease," said Patrick.
