So I have an DPMS LR-308 with the free float handguard and I am looking to mount a Harris bi-pod on it. Can anyone help me out on what adapter I would need? I've searched around on the web a bit and some people seem to say you need to tap a hole into the handguard. Thanks..

I think that your best bet is to either add a swivel stud to the hand guard or replace the hand guard with another style.

1) Add a swivel stud to the existing handguard and install a swival stud based bipod
2) Replace the handguard with an accessory rail handguard and install an accessory rail bipod
3) Add a barrel clamp bipod forward of the front sight/gas port assembly (will likely eliminate any benefit of the free-floating handguard)
