One should always remember : There is no such thing as a free
lunch...
This reminds me of a philosophy class i took in college Theories of Justice at UMaine. UMaine's phi dept is about as communist as it gets but as a phi major i needed this class. This particular prof was absolutely transparently communist to the extent that he was the organizer for the "Socialist/Marxist Luncheon Lecture Series" No kidding.
Anyway, i thought the Theoris of Justice class would be an interest moral philosphy class focusing on retributive justice. WRONG. It focused ONLY on distributive justice: ie the justice of wealth distribution. One book he made us read was called "What's Wrong with a Free Lunch?". He hated me as we always clashed heads in the class. I stuck it up his ass though by submitting a paper he gave me a C on (for disagreeing with affirmative action/wealth redistribution through social programs) to an essay competition and won $1000. I invited him to the banquet as a guest just so i could see the look on his face.
This donkey is the chair of the UMaine PHI dept. He once said in a formal logic class (that has nothing to do with politics) that "America could learn something from Cuba's economic policy". I got up and left the class.
