Last year over 300,000 (yes, threehundredthousand) G3 were sentenced
to the torch as it would have been non-PC to sell them out of country.
Some of these may have even been of the early 60's vintage, with the
wooden furniture; brand new, never issued !!
They were also prohibited to be re-built to semi auto, as the barrels
and actions of "weapons of war" are illegal to be used for civilian
purposes.
I would have given political asylum to some of them........
