I just ordered a 16" 1/11 6.8 SPC barrel.

Does anybody load this caliber? If so, what are your favorite loads? I'll probably use it as a deer/pig rifle.

Yup. Right now I'm running H322, SSA brass cci/winchester primers. and Remington 115gr FMJs. I get 2400-2500 out of a 20" barrel and as accurate as I'll ever need. 27.2gr H322. I ran 115gr Sierra Match Kings before and those were great too. 27.2 Is about max from the Hornady book anyway. No problems with cases/bad signs but I'm pushing 115gr bullets around 2500fps. Oh I'm running a Stag 7L.

I've loaded a bunch of 6.8.

A good varmit load is 29.5 H332 with a Hornady V-Max 110. This shoots approx 3/4 MOA out of my 18". I believe its loaded to 2.260.
A fantastic deer/pig load is with the Barnes 95 TTSX. This thing is a monster 29.8gr RL10x or 31gr of H335. Drops them in their tracks.

This is a 10 shot group with the V-Max load at 100 yards.

Yes, you can load 130s to mag length, the only issue is that the fps will be pretty low (usually around 2200). The 6.8 is a bit on the slow side to begin with which is why the 95gr has become king. Just about every note I've seen where the bullet has been recovered is showing its keeping 90%+ of the weight after impact. If you get too slow, expansion becomes questionable. If you PM me your email, I can send you a loading data sheet for the 6.8 with all different weight/powder combos.
