The primary handgun interests for now are my Rus., Bulgy, EG Maks, CZ-82 and Polish P-83 Wanad. Tried to like the Polish P-64, except for practicing (using) a little with three friends' 64s. This explains why I sold an excellent '80 "W. German" PPK/S. And did not want to hurt the bluing by carrying.

These eastern Euro guns are not only So solid and reliable, but more pleasant to shoot. The EG Mak has a very good DA trigger, and this P-83 is about as good.

We can always buy a US-made Glock etc (still being produced), but these others are no longer manufactured and one day could be banned from import by the more power-hungry, self-serving politicians.

So far the only carry gun is the Sig 232, which mostly rides in the car.

P.s. Havent shot it yet, either......

Obsolete junk, the lot of it. I wouldn't trust any commiebweapon, the designs are just too old. That's why I carry a 1911.

I carry a 1962 EG Makarov in the summer and a 1976 Colt gov't model in the winter. Occasionally a Glock in between depending on situation and dress.

Nice. Very subtle.

OP, I found a Serbian Police Vzor 50 back in the very late '90s; I seldom shoot with it and I'd never carry it (it's .32 ACP), but I've got to say it's totally reliable and it fires directly to point of aim. Nicely made, too, by CZ in the early '70s.

I love my CZ82 (Mak)...one of the most comfortable shooters I have, especially since I upgraded to the 18# Wolff spring (It doesn't throw brass into the next county any longer for one thing). I reload my own 9X18 rounds, making my own brass out of free 9mm luger, shaving off a mm in a trimmer I have. Use cheap berry's bullets and it shoots just great...takes anything I feed it and is damned accurate.

I have a serious chub for a CZ75 compact but so far I haven't seen one when I have the deposable cash.

I have two CZs, one is an older CZ75 and the other a modern SP-01, and a Hungarian FEG GKK-92C.

They all shoot fine and I have no complaints. My CZs are my favorite handguns.

I like the Makarov look and everything I want one of the holsters you can rack the gun by pushing down with. But ammo is scarce is unless you get the surplus stuff and things I do not trust from Ivan begin with a and end with o. Love the guns solid design some are fugly as hell but I just don't trust the ammo enough to be anything more than a range toy. Also does anyone know a spot to pickup a Makarov around these parts been half looking didn't know if there was a shop that liked to keep one or two on hand

Why on earth anyone would want one of those holsters, I have no idea. Carry it with one in the chamber and the safety off. It's perfectly safe to carry a Makarov like that. I would not trust a holster to reliably rack the slide every single time to get the gun into action.

9x18 ammo is not hard to find. Your LGS might not have it but there's plenty of it in stock at distributors. And anyhow why do you not trust any ammo made in Russia?

If you have a C&R license you can get either an original Russian military Makarov or an East German one shipped right to your door. Finding one locally is hit or miss. They come up for sale here once in a while though.

Yea I don't have a c&r but I'm not going to carry it the holster.just looks cool idk. It's got a certain dumb cool appeal to it novelty is everything to me when it comes to guns I won't carry or use for home defense. 30 some odd year old milsurp just isn't something I'd count my safety on. Who knows where it was how it was stored I mean I know 99.9% shoots fine but I'd rather take my chances with Hornady or Remington or the likes. I know those still have bad results too. Just not as many variables I know it went from the factory to the store to my house not. From Russia to the sandbox where it sat in 116 degree heat for 5 years before going to Chechnya to the cold and wet there back to Russia over to some import company to the store to another store to a gun shop to my house. Less people newer rounds less chance to get screwed up.
