15/16, thought that the coffee one was spelled with an x for English and with the s for Italian.

15/16 at age 34. Missed the semi-colon question. My copy editor at work despises them though so I've been trained to not even think about them for years now.

    13/16 damn semi;colon gets me everytime. ;)

i also thought it's was correct.

according to this, wouldn't it be acceptable that it was possessive?

Just my observation... if you bothered to take the test, you are probably not the problem.

Expanding on the OP's test, specifically in regards to the "dog" question, which BTW both answers are acceptable, depending on the dictionaries used, here is an apostrophe quiz for you guys and gals.

In the interest of improving forum communications, here it is below:

    http://www.grammarbook.com/grammar_quiz/apostrophes_1.asp

Edit: When I checked my link, I found I couldn't get beyond the second page, "server error". Sorry, major fail. Perhaps it will be fixed??

The egregious misuse of apostrophes always bugs me. I used to pass by a company on rt 62 in Hudson every day on the way to work that had a sign out front that read: "Loading Dock's" and "Office's" [banghead]

16/16 I'll have to admit the semi colon question I had to read a few times to get right. Spelling and proper usage of words are a pet peeve of mine so they didn't confuse me at all.

And the usage of the non-word "prolly" I hate most of all.

Both. It is an English loan word borrowed from the same word in Italian. Because both English and Italian use the Roman alphabet it enables the spelling to be the same, which is in fact the case here, though isn't always with loan words.

    It's worser than that. . .

The answer pops up to be:

    I guess they didn't prue-freed there one stuff. ;)

    And despite my guess on semi-colons, I got 16 of 16. ;)
