Do I need to expire before I renew?

I just got the alert that I am about to expire. There does not seem to be a renew feature anymore, so do I expire then renew?

let it expire and then sign up again. I just renewed yesterday or the day before

It wasn’t a problem to renew - couple of days After it expired.

You have to wait till your membership expires. You will get an e-mail to renew. Click the word "LINK". It will take you to a renewal order account.

got a message my membership had expired...went to Paypal a few mins ago and re-upped...all is right with the world.

Expiration notice came today (though I'm not expired....yet) and i was able to 'upgrade' again, 15th time or so. All is good.

If you expire you will not need to renew.

Is this still the case? I'm trying to renew with a credit card and I just get bounced back to paypal. And the email isn't recognized. It seems like every year I have a problem-has my IQ dropped dramatically or is this digital universe not all it's cracked up to be?
