District Attorney race?

Is this anything to pay attention to, or is it more important to watch the Attorney General?

Here is one thing I saw today:

In the few minutes allotted for each candidate to address the 50 people in attendance, Sutter ticked off a list of reasons why undecided voters should choose him. He spoke about issues facing the cities like rising gun violence


Here is another one:
Mr. Early, who has served as a prosecutor before managing his own firm, said he is running to work for a safer community, thinking of his wife and four children.
(Does that mean he'll work to help support self defense? Very very doubtful.)

Middlesex County DA is important, since it's the inside track position from which to run for AG. I don't think that Bristol County carries quite the same weight. I'd focus on Larry Frisoli for AG.

District Attorneys set the policies for the ADAs in their county. This includes firearms charges, which the ADAs I've dealt with have NO discretion to settle, per DA policy. ANY resolution other than a guilty plea or trial requires approval of the DA's office.

So, your local DA race does have some importance.
