This 9mm had a less than perfect life. The sights were changed to the dreaded Millett duel crimp. The trigger guard was very thick and round. The factory rolls were thin, uneven and shallow. Typical 70's Colt. Someone started the rejuvenation process by getting the rolls chased by and engraver maybe Clevenger. Anyway it ended up with me. The owner wanted a classic two tone with matte finish lower and a few other small details like a recessed slide stop. First the two mammoth holes in the slide had to be dealt with. Off to Jim French for laser welding. Next the trigger guard had to be hand filed and sanded back into shape. After welding the slide was flat topped and serrated to hide any last trace of the Millet sink holes. Lines were straightened, 25 lpi machine checkering and all new parts. Kart NM barrel with an EGW bushing. The slide sop and thumb safety are rework Colt parts. Grip safety is EGW, all internals are E2. The finish is classic hot blue with matte hard chrome on the lower. The grips are by SK, I added the silver Colt medallions.
