Richard Kenadek, the sysop of the Davy Jones Locker BBS, died Wednesday. When I got my first computer back in 1986, I frequented Davy Jones Locker, run by Kenadek, as well as The Repair Shop, run by @chet076 , both in Central Mass.

Davy Jones Locker was the subject of a Saturday morning FBI raid for software piracy. I'm pretty sure Kenadek got probation.

Kenadek's obit is here. View Richard Kenadek's Obituary on telegram.com and share memories

RIP fellow SysOp.

I remember that BBS and it getting raided. That raid was discussed for years in the SysLaw seminars. Hot stuff on what NOT to do.

I remember it, but by mid-1985 I was done BBSing, mainly due to an, um, encounter I may or may not have had with USAISC-White Sands. [grin]
