David Johansen won't be getting Dolled Up

Damn...hard exit with that list of ailments

New York Dolls were punk, Buster Poindexter was camp and David Johansen was talented and fun

i saw the dolls in the 70's sometime, they opened for captain beefheart and his magic band. loudest concert i ever attended, the dolls. always a fan but never as good as the ramones. oh yeah, beefheart was probably good, i just couldn't get my ears from ringing. the one reminder of my early life that has stayed with me...dolls ears...is what we called the condition of deafness.
 
I used to play liars poker with him at a bar called Tramps in NYC back in the 80's. He was quite a character
