I don't care what you buy all vehicles have problems some more than their share. With that said my My 2000 Silverado 3/4 that I bought new has been great to me. It can pass anything but a gas station but it has a real truck engine 364 ci.

My 2001 Silverado was a very different experience,I had it for twelve years and had just a tad under 250k on it, original engine and transmission and the body was still in fair condition, but it sucked ass in the snow as it was only 2WD, other wise I may have kept it. The other thing was it was nickel and diming me to death, it seemed like every other week something broke and not cheap stuff either...$500 here, $300 there just never stopped.

I just sold my 2004 2500hd two months ago for 5g, it had some/lots of rust but drove great. All the creature comforts were going south.

I don’t necessarily NEED a 2500 but I do tow toys and other crap and plow, so 2500 is better. My brothers 1500 had major issues before 100k. My friends Denali 1500 had major issues in the 60-70k mile range. I do t trust them. I trust the 6.0 and old lazy tranny. I drive a 2018 3500 gasser 6.0 daily for work, I trust it.
I must have just got a lemon
