I must have spent too much time composing a post and the system ate my carefully crafted reply and put me at the login screen.
Is the some sort of a timer or was this just an anomily?

It might have been that pesky ID 10-T Error. That or something went awry between the seat and the keyboard.

I should have mentioned troubleshooting. Give it the flotation test. I got it from a guy talking about Moto-Guzzi parts.

Put the item in water. If it floats keep it, if it sinks, get rid of it.
