Some examples which have been built from new frames and slides and some are older Colts which have been revived.

The firts image is a "Bobtailed" Delta Elite

The next two images are before and after of a chromed Colt turned into a tack driving wadcutter.

Greg, what's the reason for the "bobtailing"? Owner has small hands, or easier concealability? Just curious; never seen anything like that done before.

It's for concealability. I think Ed Brown started (or popularized) the bobtail conversion.

M1911 is correct- Bobtailing is to reduce the angle on the MSH and make the firearm more concealable. Some shooters with small hands also like the feel.
