I hope the weekend went well! There weather should have been great for it.

Sorry we didn't make it down. I had volunteered at our range's Family Day on Saturday and my parents were visiting with my sister's family over the weekend. I'm sure another 4-5 hour round trip adventure was not high on their list. :)

This was a very nice event. Although, the weather on Saturday turned out to be MUCH warmer than what had been forecasted. On Saturday, the Yankee General decided he was going to raid the 35th's camp (as we were set up on the edge of the battle field), however, our artillery and Infantry routed them soundly. We (the dismounted Cav) came up and drove them back up the hill, causing quite a few blue uniforms to be scattered on the field. Course, we took our share of hits as well, but there were 3 of us left to drive the remaining 12 of that unit to retreat. (Hey, we're good, what can I say? :D )

Sunday was a bit damp, but the rain ended and we were able to hold the battle at 1PM. However, due to the embarrassment that we (the 35th) caused the Yankee General on Saturday, he accused us of beging out of bounds and would not take us on. That was pure BS as his troops were beyond us and were engaging us....however, he (the General) just didn't want to split his forces to face us as well as our infantry, so he called foul on us. <snort> That's all right - he was the one who looked bad in front of the spectators who could see what we were doing.

Anyway...all in all, it was a very good weekend. Sorry you missed it CD.
