I don't want to kill him just yet, and definitely don't want some wounded yote out running around just in case. I've got my paintball gun cranked up all the way. I'll try that first.

Dood. CB 22 quiets out of a rifle. My Henry Goldenboy is as quiet as my Gammo whisper. Subsonic so no CRACK sound. I could easily hit him out to 100 yards.

At 30 ft as long as you can shoot in a reasonably safe direction a bow would be a good solution.

When I did depredation at the airport, we had coyotes that would keep coming back no matter how many you killed. One of the guys heard that if you leave the carcass out, they smell it and won’t cone back. It seemed to work.

So if you do shoot one, don’t do the shovel part.

    You can get a 30" barrel for a 10/22 (or other .22).

    Here's a 29": 29" Barrel

I asked a friend on my town's PD about hypothetically shooting a yote with a paintball gun. He told me non hypothetically that would be illegal, but winked and said you never know what crazy kids in town will do. We keep an airhorn, and hypothetically, an airgun and paintball gun by the door.

Freeze the paintballs you're going to use. It'll leave a mark.

My house backs up to some light woods and power lines. A few days ago about 4 a.m. I went out to get my travel mug from my car and felt something run behind me really fast. I turned just in time to see a pretty big coyote heading past me out into the woods. My hound had been barking every time I let him out in the morning lately and I guess this butthead was the reason. I don't go out to my car in just my underwear any more.

Wrap your pets in bacon before they go out, it will keep the yotes away!

A Coyote is spending a lot of time in Savin Hill Park. Every couple days someone finds a pile of fur, usually a domestic cat.

We had an elderly cat that didn’t come back. Kids looked for her and put up flyers but no joy.

My daughter just commented “Boots, RIP.”

I replied that it should be “Boots, RIC.”

    Rest In Coyote.

I am a terrible father, apparently.

Forget the trap, jUst leave him a piece of chuck steak marinated in antifreeze. It works Every time here in New Mexico.

It's New Mexico. Can't you just shoot him with your garand?

Shoot what, the coyote? Not within the city limits.

Common Kim, keep that stuff in your other thread. I don't want to have to watch 20 places for your fun stuff.

Damn. Pretty quick for 11:01 PM. No pops last night for you I see. I was talking about the cougar, but now that you mention it, can't you shoot the four legged one, bang the one upstairs and earn your Blanton's finally?

Ha! I fired the gun... just meant I didn't shoot a coyote.

In other news, female has been spotted with 8 pups. Almost every day another neighbor reports a cat missing. I hope they eat skunks too!
