Anyone know any good shops for finding cowboy lever actions, looking for something in .45 long colt.

thanks

Give Collectors a call (Stoneham, detailed thread in Gun Shop Forum), I've seen numerous lever action guns there.

Try Four Seasons in Woburn (call, info in Gun Shop Forum), but other than ordering it for you, I don't think they have a lot of lever action guns there.

Someone into SASS here hopefully can provide more info.

Also if you get a chance, look up "The Powder Keg" in Mansfield. Greg, he too can get you a lot of Lever Actions.

Both Greg and Ted can get pretty much get you whatever you want in a Lever Action.

Ted has some on-site, Greg does as well, but will most likely have to order you what you want. Greg does have a really sweet Uberti 86 in .45 colt that you won't find cheaper. It's I think around 800 and they are going for about 1200 new. And this one doesn't look fired. I was helping at his table at a show when he bought it...the guy said that he never got a chance to shoot it. If I was shooting .45 Colt, I would have bought it in a heart beat.

Hey guys
I found a used marlin cowboy lever action here at a local shop. Looks like its in pretty good as well, but the trigger seems to have some wiggle too it, is that normal for these kinds of guns? I am pretty new to cas and not sure what to expect in this type of firearm.

I've been looking as well

For Cowboy SHooting main matches we need either .357 or .45 LC. Almost nobody has these and if they do they are outrageously expensive. Yes, there are plenty of lever actions around but 90% of them are .30-30 which we can't use.
I'm just not going to pay $700 for a Marlin 1894.
I wish you luck. I do believe Collectors in Stoneham has a used .45 carbine with a large loop lever. Not on my list.

second...try taking a look up at kittery...they got a whole aisle of henrys, winchesters, marlins and such

i have a marlin 336 in 30/30...while its too much gun for CAS...i can vouch for its accuracy and durability...great lil brush gun thats very tight...the levers on the winchesters tend to be verrrry loose

There's all kinds of calibers for CAS. .44-40, .45LC, .38-40, .38/.357, .32-20, .38 spl, .44 spl, .44 mag, .45-70, .38LC, .32 H&R mag.

All of which you can get pistols and Rifles. If you get a Marlin 1894, be prepared to hand it to a smith for some action work. Those things are the stiffest things out of the box that I've seen.

But just about everyone is now doing a cowboy line in just about any approved SASS calibers you can think of shooting.
