FLUXING with raw or green sawdust could be dangerous with the moister?I don't think there will be to much oil on the CS shavings BUT it might stink and smoke more than you care for. I would stick with dry wood shop shavings.
I cleaned my molds with 97% isopropyl alcohol then blackened with a lighter...45acp and 1oz 12g slug.

I been useing saw dust and old candles for fluxing wheel weights. I use the flux for plumbing in my lee pot. It doesn't smoke or stink and a good amount of crud comes to the top.

Not mention there will be dirt stuck to those oily chips. I find candle at yardsales.
as for your longer hose. I think if its right on the package or sticker.
