Couldn't connect with NES Sunday night

Anyone else not able to connect to NES during the Oscars? I kept getting bounced to a Google image search results page!

The server was down and NES is on another one. I had to make DNS changes so people could connect.

I have been down since Sunday at home, and it is still down...

At work though I can get on without issue...

It can take up to 24 hours for the DNS to propagate to all ISP's.

In the meantime I am trying to figure out how I can get to the site using the new IP address http://72.46.125.5/

make an entry in to your hosts file.

BTW Chuck. I literally added NES to my host file with the new IP and submitted the DNS changes then logged in here. You were already in here. Not sure how but damn that was fast.

Awesome, now I can get to the site faster than ever before!! C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\Hosts file worked great...

Hey Derek, if this happens again, I can show you a way to do this within minutes. In short; you reduce the TTL time (day before you make the actual change). Saves a ton of headaches. then you change the TTL back.
