The serial number on that gun looks pre-ban vintage, so it should be ok for MA folks. I've got a Sporter II myself. Nice gun, and at $1200 for a like new un-fired example seems like a good deal for somebody.

If it is pre-ban, how is it not MA compliant?
I am not that familiar with what is or what isn't - it has a bayo lug etc.
and is in Ill.
Just wanted to pass it on cause folks said they was getting scarce.
Don't post much here unless I have been sucking on some brews.

A few caveats for the folks out there:

-Serial appears to be preban
-Remember to add at least $40 to the cost for processing
-Be prepared to: put up with A1 sights, put up and alter the aperture to an A2 style, place a cantilever mount on the handle, buy an ACOG, or acquire another upper and put up with the "large hole"/"small hole" conversion

But, Colts will hold value. Unlike another manufacturer, a preban Colt costs the same in AZ as it does in MA; a preban Bushmaster will command the same price as a Colt in MA, but will cost many hundreds less in most other states.
