Up for sale is a Colt Model 1911 Commercial serial number C88171 made in 1917 .
I don’t know much about it, I’m not a early 1911 guru but from the little bit of research I did it looks all original other than the barrel, its a High Standard. I suspect the barrel was replaced sometime after WWII.
The pictures should speak volumes about the guns condition. Zero rust or pitting! The finish is warn as would be the expected on a gun over 100 years old. Apparently a previous owner did not know how to disassemble and the slide lock has warn the finish off the left side of the frame during disassembly and reassembly.
