Ok so for us old guys, what the hell does non binary mean? And the “they/them” stuff, does that mean the person thinks there is more than one of them? Like invisible friends or something? I can’t keep up with this new normal nonsense.

These people believe sex and gender are two different things. Sex is what they were born as. To them, gender is a mental spectrum. Mentally, they may not FEEL like they belong in their bodies. So they change their gender pronouns to SHE or HE accordingly. Or THEY if they’re confused as to what they feel like.
That tomboy down the street from you growing up may have been preferred to be called “he”. But as an adult may have grown out of that phase and changed to a “she”, or still a tomboy… whatever.

Yep. There are people with legitimate medical (not mental) disorders who, genetically, are on what's called "the intersex spectrum." It's been a thing since the early 70s at least, and Johns Hopkins had a famous surgeon named John Money who believed those people needed to be "gender-assigned" at birth, then raised specifically NOT to be binary. IIRC, most of them are fetuses who were exposed to the wrong amount of testosterone over a critical few days during pregnancy. It's a really fine line, apparently.
He was the most knowledgeable guy about all this, and his theories are probably correct. But alas. He was an unethical bastard who didn't believe in doing proper research. So his findings have been discredited (rightly or wrongly), and they've simply ended up muddying the waters of this issue.
The people legitimately on the intersex spectrum? I feel for them, but they are very few (one live birth out of every 100,000 or so), and most of them keep to themselves because they're just trying to get by. For them, sex and gender are two different things. Unfortunately, a whole mess of people have picked up their torch and deluded themselves into thinking they're on that spectrum as well. Those are generally the people NES gets cranky about, I think.

I kind of think his “they/them” identity is being used to probably set him up for a mental defect defense and to try and sway people that this wasn’t what they define as a hate crime.
The best solution here would be if the shooter is gay. I mean he will be soon enough in prison but it would take some wind out of the sails for the dems overall narrative if he is already gay.
Just wishful thinking.
We’ve been told that people like this guy have absolutely NO mental issues. It’s perfectly normal and you need to accept it as such.

I kind of assume it works like this….binary is either a 1 or a 0. You can picture what the 1 and the 0 represent. A 1 might want to be a 0 or vice-versa, or “they“ might want to be both or neither. Or I could be wildly off base……

For every shooter profile that includes bullying at school, abusive parents, identity confusion, etc. there’s probably 10s of thousands like them out there that don’t pick up a gun and start shooting. What triggers few of many is far to complex to ever solve. The mass shooter genie is out of the bottle. The media and devisive politics have corked that bottle and the genie won’t get put back in.
Gun control advocates know that so figure that, since society won’t stop making mass shooters, taking guns away is the only choice. Or that’s what they say their logic is - but disarming your social, cultural, intellectual, economic, spiritual and political adversaries only makes sense, eh?

FBI routinely sends out alerts to agencies after any mass shooting, reminding of the 2-week copycat elevated risk. Short of an armed employee in the break room where the shooter attacked, there’s little other on-site defense that would have been useful. The risk window runs through Black Friday weekend - unarmed Mall Ninjas will be working overtime. DOJ/FBI are busy with Trump, so we’re on our own again…
These are two crises that will go to waste for the gun control advocates - it’s too late to build a frenzy before most take 4-5 day weekends to eat, drink, watch sports and be merry. Post-holiday, re-starting a frenzy doesn’t work, especially between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Democrats would suggest we put the whole population on strict Caloric restriction (CR) diets, as the most effective way to slow tumor growth.

Good anaology. It’s hard to find mass shooters where the trigger (getting sacked at work, hating some category of people, etc.) didn’t coincide with some mental disorder and/or trail of abuse, even if not professionally diagnosed.
The symptoms of a sick society include mass shootings. Democrats want to treat the symptom (mass shootings) with more gun control, but the side-effects on society are worse than the failed cure.
