Just finished a bowl of chicken broth for a lunch. Fridge full of clears and the washing of my insides starts at 5 this evening then a follow up rinsing at 2am. Procedure at 8 in the morning.

Thanks. I expect it to be fine but one never knows. I'm hoping for a 10 year follow up.

TMI , sorry, reason was , some were saying what an ordeal the day before and the actual procedure was. I did eat lightly the day before the prep day, that helped. I was expecting much worse. But just for any help to any one unsure of doing this, Go do it, it is easy and pain free. I also mixed the Miralax 238 gram powder with 64 oz of Juicy juice apple (clear), it had the sugar in it , so I believe it kept me from being hungry. Plus it tasted fine, no other flavor from miralax was tasted.

Had my first 5 years ago, over 70 yoa. The pre-prep was a bitch but the ordeal was a snap. Totally conscious, mild IV, watched the whole thing on the TV. Only a little pressure going from large colon to small, other than that a breeze. 1 polyp removed, benign. Was fun seeing that snipped.

Compared to the rigid when I had dysentery in the 60's it was a snap.

2 polyps removed just like last time and out for testing. They said not to drive today and I laughed until I sent a message to a friend on Thursday as agreed. Truck is still in the garage.

I reminded the Dr that his inspection sticker had a big red R on it. He laughed.

I wouldn't have minded watching but it wasn't offered. I didn't mind sleeping either though. :)

All set. Procedure was a piece of cake. Prep is by far the worst part.

Be sure to check your insurance. Ask ahead of time before you get an unexpected bill. If they send samples out to pathology to get tested, make sure your insurance covers that. It could/will be totally separate bill then the procedure itself. It does make a difference. Most endoscopy centers sent samples out for testing while hospitals will generally keep samples in house for pathology.

You are always reading about how hard it is to get execution drugs, but every hospital stocks propofol. If they can cut you open and replace a hip without you noticing while on Propofol, the could certainly remove your heart and you would die in your sleep (not really, anasthesia is not sleep) and not even know it until you wake up the next morning.

I just was reviewing my paperwork from the hospital and on the back page they included a roadmap and photos of my colon. I now have the perfect christmas card photos to send my inlaws. Merry Christmas from your a**hole son inlaw.

Yup, out like a light in seconds and wide awake again just as fast, with no lingering issues. Oh, and very well rested. Not like the stuff used with dental surgery. That stuff leaves you punk stupid for half a day. The cheap stuff. :D

Just did it last week. Prep really not too bad. Split mirilax plan. Mixed with light blue Gatorade. Drink it cold. Food poisoning is much worse that this prep. No gut pain or anything. Lost a quick 5 pounds!
I was first procedure of the morning so was up all night with prep. Last think I remember was shooting the breeze with nurse, woke up in recovery at some point later. No pain at all.
