Hey guys, I finally decided to actually break down the 1930s Auto-5 passed down from my girlfriends grandfather, to her father, to her. Over the past 70-80 years it has seen its fair share of use, and from the looks of it NEVER been cleaned. The oil and powder from the years has formed something reminiscent of tar over all the internals. Even after breaking everything down I have given up until I have a punch to break all the parts down further.

Besides sitting there and just scrubbing all day (which I can do if necessary) is there any "fast" way to break up/loosen this stuff up? I am thinking of diluting a gallon of simple green or something.

Also, when it comes to re-assembly, what should be used as anti-seize for the lock screws?

Thanks,

Mike
